Owais al-Qarani(May Allah be Pleased with Him) was a devout follower of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him), known for His deep love and respect for the Prophet(Peace be upon Him), even though He never had the chance to meet Him(Peace be upon Him) in person. Owais (May Allah be Pleased with Him) lived in Yemen, caring for his ailing mother, and could not travel to Medina to see the Prophet. Despite this, He(May Allah be Pleased with Him) had an unwavering connection to the Prophet (Peace be upon Him) through his faith and devotion.

The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) knew of Owais'(May Allah be Pleased with Him)  sincerity and faith, and He(Peace be upon Him) once said to his companions(May Allah be Pleased with Them All), “A man will come to you from Yemen whose name is Owais, and he will be from the best of the followers.” The Prophet(Peace be upon Him) , knowing that He would not meet Owais(May Allah be Pleased with Him) in this life, instructed His(Peace be upon Him) companions(May Allah be Pleased with Them All) to pass along a gift to Him(May Allah be Pleased with Him) —a piece of the Prophet’s (Peace be upon Him)  cloak.
